How to make an easy flip fold card

We made this fun flip fold card at my Craftalong today. (If you’d like to join us next month, then please make sure you have signed up for my emails.) This card is an easy flip fold card, with a panel that flips round to show the reverse side as you open it.

To make this flip fold card you need:

• Crumb Cake cardstock base 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) 
• Crumb Cake cardstock panel 10cm x 8cm (4″ x 3″)
• Basic White cardstock (x2) 9.5cm x 7.5cm (3¾” x 2¾”
• Delicate Dreams or similar DSP, cut as in the instructions below:
  • 10cm x 14.3cm (4″ x 5¼”) 
  • 5cm x 14.3cm (2” x 5¼”) x2
  • 3.8cm x 9.6cm (1¼” x 3¾”)
• Delicate Whispers bundle plus your chosen sentiment
• Scraps of Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake and Basic White cardstock for stamping and die-cutting
• Pecan Pie ink pad
• Crumb Cake blends

Fold and burnish your card base.

Score the front of your card base in half at 5.25cm (2 1/8″), fold outwards and burnish well.

Adhere the three larger DSP pieces to your card, the largest one to the inside back of the card, one thinner strip to the inside of the front fold and the second thinner strip on the outside of the front fold.

Die-cut any elements you want for the front – I used a lot of the Delicate Whispers dies!

Stamp your sentiment for the outside of the card on a scrap of Basic White and die-cut if you wish. I used a sentiment from the Scalloped Blooms set and die-cut it using the small Scalloped Blooms tag die.

Stamp an inside sentiment and any decoration you wish on one of the Basic White panels

Stamp a decoration or further sentiments on the second panel – this is the panel that will appear when the flip flap card is opened. Stick this panel to the reverse of the Crumb Cake panel.

Glue the left-hand side of the Crumb Cake panel behind the front fold on your card so that it is central.

Adhere the small strip of DSP to the front of the panel that shows.

Stick the inside Basic White panel to the inside back of the card so that it is covered by your Crumb Cake panel.

Decorate the front of your flip fold card with die-cuts and coloured stamped images, plus any ribbon or gems as you wish!

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I stamped mine with the small flower stamp, or you could add DSP to the flap – your choice.
