This month’s Build & Bloom Stampers blog hop theme is Nature

I used the Elegant Leaves bundle to make this nature easel card, together with the gorgeous Glow of Harvest specialty DSP, which was the August Product of the Month.

To make this nature easel card you will need:

  • Basic White cardstock base 21cm x 14.8cm (8½” x 5½”)
  • Pecan Pie cardstock panels x 2: 14.4cm x 5cm (5¼”” x 2″)
  • Pecan Pie cardstock strip: 14.4cm x 2.4cm (5¼”” x 1″)
  • Glow of Harvest DSP panels x 2: 14cm x 4.6cm (5” x 1¾”)
  • Glow of Harvest DSP strip: 14cm x 2cm (5″ x ¾”)
  • Basic White piece for sentiment panel approximately 8.5cm x 4.5cm (3¼” x 1¾”)
  • Basic White for stamping
  • Twine approx 30cm (12″)
  • Metallic gems

Here are the pieces you need:

Score your base cardstock at 5.25cm and 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” score at 2 1/8″ and 4¼”).

Fold and burnish to create the easel nature card base.

Stamp a variety of leaves and add the patterned infills. I used Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Golden Glow and Pecan Pie ink pads.

Die-cut the leaves – I used nine, but it depends which sizes you want how many you need.

Adhere the DSP panels to the Pecan Pie panels. NB Make sure any directional pattern is the right way up.

Adhere these to the card front.

Die-cut the Basic White piece – I used the Countryside Corner dies.

Stamp your sentiment in the centre. (Optional: Stamp any leaves you want to have directly on this piece.)

Add dimensionals only to the bottom half of this piece and add to the lower panel on your card front.

Add your prepared leaves to decorate as required and finish with a twine bow and gems.

Stamp your sentiment inside the card.

Stick the DSP strip to the Pecan Pie strip. Adhere to the bottom inside of the card using dimensionals – this forms the stopper for your nature easel card to be displayed.

Here’s the inside of my nature easel card with the extra leaves I added to cover up the smear – see video!
