As you know, I love a fun fold card so I loved making this one. This centre flap card is so versatile – you can make it for any occasion and you can use any DSP and any stamp set and image you might have – just choose a coordinating colour cardstock. It has an additional surprise flap panel that can be used in many different ways. You can leave it embossed or add for further sentiments, elements or decorations.
I made mine using retired products, the Layering Leaves stamp set with its coordinating Bough punch. I love the different effects you can get making all sorts of different boughs in different colour combos. The DSP is the retired specialty DSP, Natures Sweetness.
To make a centre flap card you need:
- Coloured cardstock – 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″)
- Basic White – 14.3cm x 10cm (5 1/4″ x 4″)
- DSP – 14.5cm x 10.2cm (5 1/4″ x 4″)
- Basic White – 10.2cm x 10.2cm (4″ x 4″)
- Colour cardstock flap panel 8.2cm x 21cm (8½” x 3¼”)
- Scraps of DSP and Basic White for stamping and decoration
Instructions
Fold and burnish your card base. This will be a landscape card.
Score the colour cardstock flap panel on the long side at 10.5cm (4 1/4″), fold and burnish.
Adhere this flap panel centrally onto the front of your card base.
Glue the DSP across the card front under the flap.
Emboss the Basic White square using any suitable embossing folder – I used the retired Layered Leaves.
Adhere this centrally under the flap so it protrudes on both sides.
You can decorate this, as I have done, or add another panel for writing a note or stamping a sentiment.
Decorate the front centre flap as you wish. For this card, I stamped a Basic White panel 7.6cm x 10cm (3″ x 4″), added some stamped leaves, then added a strip of DSP with another sentiment panel on top.
Stamp your greeting and any decoration on the large Basic White panel and stick inside your card. I stamped the leaves with Pecan Pie and infilled with stamped-off Pecan Pie.
Don’t forget to decorate your envelope as well!
