In this blog post I show you how you can use make three quick and easy cards using ready-prepared toppers or some beautiful Designer Series Paper.
I’ve used the Greatest Journey range of products which includes a stamp set, a fabulous set of dies, and matching Designer Series Paper. It also includes coordinating Enjoy the Adventure Memories and More cards and a 20 pack of cards and envelopes. Sadly these products are retiring soon but are currently available at a significant discount. (Buy through my shop page.)
I often gloss over the Memories and More section of the catalogue as I don’t do scrapbooking. But the card packs are wonderful for making quick and easy cards. The card packs from the Memories and More collection contain fifty double-sided cards in two different sizes, 3″x 4″ (7.6 x 10.2cm) and 4″x 6″ (10.2 x 15.2cm). The pack also has four sticker sheet, two of each type with loads of small stickers to add to your projects. You can also get the matching cards & envelopes set of 20 card bases and 20 already decorated envelopes.
To make these cards I used both the Memories and More packs plus the matching cards & envelopes. The cards with envelopes come in two colours – I used both here! The video shows you how I put them all together and further instructions can be found below.
For the first card, I used the Mango Melody/Petal Pink card base and added the Thinking of You topper from the card pack. I trimmed it down slightly to measure 13.8cm x 9.5cm and stuck it to the card base. All it needed were a few of the flower stickers from the sheets in the card pack and voila – a card that took less than five minutes to make!
I used the Balmy Blue/Mint Macaron card base for my second card. This was even simpler than the first. I chose the 7.6 x 10.2cm Thank You So Much topper from the card pack and added an 8.2 x 11cm layer of coordinating coloured cardstock behind the topper. I wrapped a 15cm length of Pool Party ribbon around this prepared topper then used a small 6cm piece to add a knot. I added the completed topper to the card base using dimensionals.
To make the final card, I wanted to showcase the Greatest Journey stamp set, dies and Designer Series Paper. I used a plain Basic White card base and envelope and added a 14.3 x 10cm piece of the mountain scene DSP. I used the dies to cut out the tent in Pool Party and Garden Green and the camper in Basic Black. I stamped the trees in Garden Green on Garden green cardstock and cut them out using the matching die.
The sentiment is stamped in Memento. I flagged the end then layered it onto a piece of Garden Green and flagged that end too before gently shaping it and sticking onto the card’s upper left.
It’s so quick and easy to use ready-prepared toppers for your cards!
