CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN WEEK 2
We’re another week closer to Christmas! Last week I showed you how to use your Cozy & Bright kit to make various different cards. But this kit is far more than just different possibilities for cards. With a little imagination, you can make many other Christmas bits and bobs.
In the first part of today’s video I show you how you can start with a base card and end up with a gift box. The second part shows you how to make four or five gift tags from a base card.

Gift Box: To make the gift box you need:
- A Cozy & Bright card base front 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 3/4″ on all four sides
- Evening Evergreen base 4 11/16″ x 5 15/16″ scored at 1″ on all four sides
- Gold foil
- Bough punch
- Tear & tape
- Paper trimmer
Fold and burnish all folds on the box base and lid. Trim the tabs as shown in the video then form the box by sticking each tab down using liquid glue, making sure the corners are perfectly square. Hold each tab for a few seconds to make sure it sticks well.
To decorate the top, I added some twine curled round and stuck to the base with a small piece Tear & Tape adhesive (which will be hidden by the sentiment). I punched out boughs and sprigs from gold foil with the Bough punch. Finally, I added the sentiment using dimensionals.
Gift tags: Uses one card base from the kit
I used the largest tag dies to cut two decorated tags from the card front and 2-3 tags from the card base – see the video for how to do this. Then I stamped the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Christmas Scottie stamp set at one edge of one of the sentiment strips from the kit, then used my paper trimmer to cut it in half and parallel – see the video for how to do that using the lines on your trimmer. I added it using dimensionals, then added a 6″ length of Evening Evergreen ribbon to each tag. I used various elements from the Cozy & Bright kit to decorate the plain card tags.
You can make the tags either single or double layered – see the video for how to make the double tag.
Cozy & Bright – the kit that keeps on giving!
