Here is a simple embossed card made with the gorgeous Cutest Crew stamp set that can be made for any occasion and with any medium-sized image from any stamp set you have.

To create the embossed pattern on this card, you need either a Simply Scored tool, or a paper trimmer with a scoring blade, or a steel ruler and an embossing tool.

You could use any stamp set for this simple embossed card. For example, if you don’t like cute animals, why not use a flower cluster as the central image?

You will need:

  • Basic White (or colour) card base 10.5cm x 29.6cm scored at 14.8cm (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½”)
  • Bubble Bath (or colour of your choice) panel 10.1cm x 14.4cm (4” x 5¼”)
  • Basic White panel 9.6cm x 13.9cm (3¾” x 5”)
  • Stampin Blends for colouring

This simple embossed card could not be easier to make.

Fold and burnish your card base.

Adhere the colour panel on the front.

There are various ways to do the dry embossing. Use either your Simply Scored tool or your paper trimmer, or even an embossing tool and a silicone mat. I discuss these in the video.

I made one card with a rectangle frame and the other with corner embossed lines. You see both in the video because I made a boo-boo….!

Rectangle frame: Use the Simply Scored to emboss two lines ¼” (0.5cm) in from each edge, 1/8″ apart, that is, use the two neighbouring channels on the Simply Scored. (See the video if you are unsure). You can do three lines if you prefer.

Corner embossed: Use your paper trimmer to score five diagonal lines on each corner. Place one corner of your card piece on the first vertical line as shown in the video, then move it out one line each time. I lined up the opposite corner at the 2″ mark to get the angles the same on each corner.

Stamp the Cutest Crew or your choice of image in Memento ink across the centre of the embossed Basic White panel.

Stamp a sentiment in Memento towards the bottom right-hand corner.

Colour your image as you wish using blends.

Adhere to the card front. (Add some additional animals on dimensionals if you wish – optional!)

Decorate with some gems if you wish – I added some to my flower version.

Add any required sentiment and/or decoration to the inside of your card.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope!
