This month’s Build & Bloom Stampers blog hop theme is Masculine. Cards for men can be difficult, so I hope this post and those from my fellow Blog Hoppers give you some ideas.

I used the Sunset Coast bundle, the Scenic Coast DSP and the Arch dies to make a fun fold card with an extra surprise to give to my husband, as it’s our wedding anniversary next week. The card looks complicated but it really is not!

To make this fun fold masculine card you will need:

• Blueberry Bushel card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 5.25cm and 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 2 1/8″ and 4¼”)
• Blueberry Bushel inside card 28.5cm x 10cm scored at 14.2cm (10½” x 4″ scored at 5¼”)
• Basic White panel for inside the inside card 9cm x 13.5cm (4¾” x 3¾”)
• Two sheets of Scenic Coast DSP – cut out both together using the 4th largest Arch die (keep the rest of the sheets)
• Two pieces of Balmy Blue cut out using the 3rd largest Arch die
• Scraps of Balmy Blue and Basic White for sentiment
• Sunset Sparkle sequins
• Blueberry Bushel ink pad
• Sunset Coast bundle

Fold and burnish the card base as valley and mountain.

Fold and burnish the inside card piece.

Adhere the DSP arches to the Balmy Blue arches.

Trim one of the remaining pieces of the DSP to approx. 14.3cm x 4.5cm (5″ x 1¾”) and adhere to the left-hand front panel.

Trim the other remaining piece of DSP, keeping the cut -out arch in the centre, to 9.5cm x 13.5cm (4¾” x 3¾”) and adhere to the front of the inside card piece.

Trim the remaining piece to 1.5cm x 13.5cm (5/8″ x 4¾”) and attach to the Basic White inside panel.

Adhere the inside card to the inside of the card base.

Adhere one completed arch piece flat on the inside card front.

Close the side flap and stick the other completed arch piece top the card front being careful to line it up with the one behind, only using glue on the left-hand side.

Stamp a sentiment in. Blueberry Bushel ink on the Basic White panel. Add further decoration if you wish – I stamped a couple of small boats.

(optional) Die-cut the bird die twice in Basic Black and adhere them to your arches.

Stamp your sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink onto a scrap of Basic White then layer onto a scrap of Balmy Blue.

Add to the front of the card using dimensionals.

Finish this masculine card with a few Sunset Sparkle sequins.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I trimmed a remaining strip of DSP to use on mine.
