This month’s Build & Bloom Stampers blog hop theme is Birthday. I decided to make a coloured strip tone-on-tone birthday card. This month I am using the gorgeous Cutest Crew bundle for my birthday card, but you can use whatever strip-like stamp sets you have that may be similar.

To make this tone-on-tone birthday card you will need:

• Basic White card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)
• 2024-2026 In Color cardstock strips:
  • Pretty in Pink 10cm x 2.5cm (4′ x 1″)
  • Petunia Pop 10cm x 2.5cm (4′ x 1″)
  • Peach Pie 10cm x 2.5cm (4′ x 1″)
  • Summer Splash 10cm x 2.5cm (4′ x 1″)
  • Shy Shamrock 10cm x 2.5cm (4′ x 1″)
• Basic White approx 6-7cm square (2½” square)
• Spotlight on Nature die or other circle die or punch approx 5.5cm (2″)
• Scrap of cardstock for die-cutting animals
• 2024-2026 In Color ink pads
• Memento ink pad

Fold and burnish the card base.

Decide which animal stamp you want to use and stamp each strip of cardstock in the same colour ink pad. (You will need to stamp the birds twice on each strip).

Arrange these across the card front, angling them as shown in the pictures.

Die-cut or punch a circle – I used the Spotlight on Nature dies.

Stamp your sentiment in the centre using Memento ink.

Add to your card using dimensionals.

Add any other decoration you want – die-cut animals in one of the In Colors, or stamp the butterflies or flowers stamp as in the card I made today in the Live, plus you can add some gems too if you wish.

Add a greeting and stamped decoration inside your card

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope as well!
