Today in my live session on YouTube and Facebook I made a set of four notecards and also a frame card using the Softly Sophisticated bundle which is free with a £90 order for the remainder of Saleabration – but that’s only ten more days! Don’t miss out.

Four notecards set:

I used the small cards and envelopes from the Assorted Memories and More card set. (Or cut your own card blanks to fit the C6 envelopes.) I made four, two each of two types. For each card, I used DSP from the Softly Stippled DSP, another SAB item, cut to 7.6cm x 13.3cm (3″ x 4″). I cut four of these and also cut four Basic White panels 6.5cm x 9.3cm (2 7/16″ x 3 5/8″).

I stamped the Softly Sophisticated tall thin leaves stamp in Mossy Meadow then added the matching flowers in Blackberry Bliss. In the video I explain how to line up the buds at the top and both sides to make sure the flowers are stamped in the correct place. I used two layouts as shown in the picture below and made two cards with each layout.

I added a Softly Sophisticated sentiment in Memento to the top of the Basic White panel then used multipurpose adhesive to stick the layers together.

I added glue to the flap for the envelopes and then stuck a piece of DSP onto it. I then cut around the flap on the reverse side to complete the envelopes. Watch out for a future blog post and video on how to make a custom box for a set of notecards!

Frame card:

For my frame card, I used a Basic White base of 21cm x 14.8cm, scored at 10,5cm (8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”), and turned to landscape. The outer layer is Balmy Blue 14.3cm x 10cm (5 1/4″ x 4″). The inner Basic White layer is 13.8cm x 9.5cm (5″ x 3 3/4″) and I ran this through my Cut’n’Emboss machine using the Softly Sophisticated embossing folder. From another piece of Balmy Blue cut out the largest circular frame from the Thoughtful Expressions dies.

Using a piece of Basic white approx 10cm x 10cm (4″ x 4″), stamp the Softly Sophisticated cluster of larger leaves in Old Olive just above the centre. Add the flower cluster lining up the tiny bud on the left as shown in the video using Azure Afternoon. Cut out this stamped piece using the second smallest circular frame dies from the Thoughtful Expressions dies.

Stamp your sentiment (I used one from the wonderful Go To Greetings stamp set) in Memento on a scrap piece of Basic White and flag the ends as shown in the video.

Stick your stamped and die cut flower frame to the Balmy Blue frame and stick to the centre of your card. Add the sentiment using dimensionals as shown in the picture on this post.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card if you want and also decorate your envelope!
