Here is the sixth of my 12 Cards for Christmas projects. I made two cards using some retired DSP, Shining Brightly,* and a gold foil wreath cut using the Noel tidings dies. You can make these cards using any DSP you may have – just match the wreath colour to your DSP. I used Very Vanilla card stock, but you may find Basic White suits your DSP better.

(*You could also use the Luxe Foliage DSP, available as a Product of the Month with a £70 order.)

To make these two cards one wreath cards you need:

  • Two Card bases 10.5cm x 29.6cm scored at 14.8cm (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½”)
  • DSP long strip: 5.5cm x 30cm (2¼” x 12”)
  • Two strips of gold foil approx 0.5-1cm x 14.8cm (¼”-½” x 5½”)
  • One Gold foil (or colour cardstock) piece for wreath 11cm x 14cm ( 4¼” x 5½”)
  • Scraps of base card for sentiments
  • Gold embossing powder and heat tool

The instructions are below and/or you can watch the video at the end of this post.

Instructions

Fold and burnish the base cards.

Cut the DSP strip into two pieces 5.5cm x 14.8cm (2¼” x 5½”)

Adhere the DSP strips to the base cards lining them up with the bottom of the cards.

Adhere the gold strips across the top of the DSP/cardbase joins.

Cut the wreath in half across the top and the bottom of the oval shape.

Adhere each half to a card using glue (or adhesive sheet!)

Emboss your sentiment twice in gold onto scraps of your base cardstock and heat set. (Remember to rub the card with your embossing buddy first.) Die-cut these pieces using the Noel Tidings banner die.

Add across the centre of your two cards one wreath cards using dimensionals to complete your two cards one wreath cards.

I placed one of mine directly over the gold strip but I offset the second one. I’m still not sure which I prefer!

Here is the offset sentiment one:

And here is the central one:

Which do you prefer? Please let me know in the comments.

I stamped a greeting and decoration inside the card using Darling Duckling and added the same decoration to the envelope.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I stamped the bough and pine cone to match the inside of the cards.

You can make this card with any DSP and coordinating colour cardstock.
