Scalloped bloom flowers card

This month I’ve been using the Scalloped Bloom dies for my projects. I used them to make some simple flowers for this flowers card, adhered to a central strip of the gorgeous Bloom Boutique DSP.

The large flower has four layers, the middle-sized one has two and the tiny one can have two or three – up to you!

To make this card you need:

• Basic White card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)
• Coordinating cardstock (I used Crisp Cantaloupe) 6cm x 14.8cm (2 1/8″ x 5½”) plus coordinating ink pad
• Bloom Boutique DSP strip 5.5cm x 14.8cm (2″ x 5½”)
• Large piece of coordinating Bloom Boutique DSP, approx 1/4 of a sheet
• Scalloped Bloom dies (or bundle)
• Boutique Blossoms stamp set and dies
• Scraps of gold foil
• Scraps of Basic White for stamping
• Sunset Sparkle sequins or other small gems

Fold and burnish your card base.

Glue the trip of cardstock centrally to the card front and adhere the strip of DSP on top.

Die-cut one fourth smallest scallop, one third smallest scallop, two second smallest scallops and two smallest scallops from the DSP sheet.

Die-cut two smallest scallops from gold foil, plus punch a smaller flower/scallop from gold foil – I used a now retired mini punch, but a small round circle would do as well.

You should now have these pieces:

Use a large embossing tool or the end of yiur take a pick tool to gently shape each flower, finishing off using your hand – see the video for how to do this.

For the large flower, add a dab of glue to each flower centre, to stick the largest, next largest and one of the third largest die-cuts together, aligning the patterns if necessary. Add a small gold foil scallop to the centre.

Form the second flower by sticking the second gold foil scallop to the centre of the second smallest DSP die-cut.

Make up the small flower by sticking two DSP smallest scallops together, offsetting the petals, and adding the tiny gold foil centre.

Stamp the outline leaf cluster from the Bloom Boutique stamp set three or four times in Memento on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Infill with the solid leaf cluster stamp using Crisp Cantaloupe (or other coordinating colour ) ink pad.

Die-cut these leaves.

Stamp your chosen sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and flag the right-hand end. (I left this plain for my Crisp Cantaloupe card, but layered it for my Hydrangea Hue card as you can see in the main picture.)

Arrange the completed flowers and leaves as you wish on your card front and glue in place. Add the smallest flower on top of your sentiment as shown.

Finish your card by adding some small gems to the flower centres.

I stamped a greeting on the inside and added some small flowers, outlined stamped in Memento and infilled using Crisp Canteloupe.

I used these to decorate the envelope too.

You can use any DSP and any circular nesting dies you have to make a flowers card like this. Have a play with how many die-cuts to use for each flower and different ways to layer them – the possibilities are endless!
