How to make a simple embossed card

This is a simple embossed card that is easy and quick to make. It can be made for any occasion you want – birthday, hello, sympathy, congratulations, anything – simply by changing the image and sentiment used. The embossing folder I used is Peaceful Greenery, currently on the Last Chance products list, so grab it while you can!

I made my first simple embossed card using the Woolly Friends stamp set.

For the one at the top of this post and in the video, I used the lovely Hearts & Hugs stamp set, which is sadly retired, but you could use any similar-sized image from your stash.

To make this card, you need very few supplies:

• Basic White thick card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)
• Basic White piece 10.5 cm x 14.5cm (4¼” x 5½”)
• Scraps of Basic White for stamping
• Ink and colouring pens as required
• Embellishments as required

Instructions

Fold and burnish your card base.

Emboss your piece of Basic White using the Peaceful Greenery embossing folder.

Either stick this piece on the card as it is, or trim around the embossed design if you prefer, as I did, before adhering to your card front. You can see what I did in the video below.

Stamp your image in Memento onto a scrap of Basic White. Colour if you want, then punch or cut out.

Add to the non-embossed centre of your card using dimensionals.

Stamp your chosen sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White. Add to the card front at the bottom using dimensionals. Add gems or ribbon to complete as you wish.

Add decoration inside your card as you want. Here is mine.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope! And your simple embossed card is complete.
