This month’s class was all about making a stack of simple stamping cards. My BFF is having a knee replacement in October so wanted to have all her Christmas cards made before her op and I’m off travelling to Australia and New Zealand from the middle of November, so also need to have my cards made!

So I rummaged through my stash of stamp sets and DSP and came up with these three cards. All use mostly retired items, so I haven’t given a list of products for this post, but I thought they might give you some ideas to use with any stash you have.

The base for all three cards is thick Basic White 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”).

Snowflake card

I used the Snowflake Wishes stamp set and some retired snowflake vellum. The Night of Navy layer is 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5¼”) then the vellum layer 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3¾” x 5”) was added on top using glue dots.

The sentiment used simple stamping with NIght of Navy ink and fussy cut then added to the card using dimensionals.

All three cards had a similar inside with a simple stamped sentiment and simple stamping decoration.

Stars card

This is truly a simple stamping card! I used the retired Stars at Night stamp set. I cut a layer 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5¼”) ten stamped the large star and the sentiment in Misty Moonlight. Then I used the small star cluster stamps to fill in around the central star using Balmy Blue. I also used these for decoration inside the card and on the envelope.

DSP card

This card uses two coordinating pieces of DSP as the decoration and a simple stamping banner sentiment across the “join”. The two pieces make up the usual layer 1 of 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5¼”) cut horizontally – I split them so one was around 4cm deep and the other 6cm, but you can choose how to cut them. You can add ribbon or gems as you wish.

I hope you like these simple stamping cards and use your own stash to make some quick and easy Christmas cards.
