I remembered about the Tech4Stampers blog hop this month! I missed it last month because I got my weeks mixed up – oops.

T4S

This month’s theme is red and green, so I immediately thought of the Joy of Christmas Suite with its fabulous stamp and die set bundles and gorgeous DSP.

I made two cards using the same layout. The instructions are below and you can watch the video for more information.

You will need:

  • Real Red or Garden Green card base 21cm x 14.8cm
  • Real Red or Garden Green piece 14.3cm x 5.5cm
  • Garden Green piece 11cm x 10cm (for the die cut)
  • Joy of Christmas DSP 14.3cm x 5.5cm
  • Basic White inside panel 13.8cm x 9.5cm
  • Scrap of basic White for the sentiment
  • Approx 15cm of Real Red or Garden Green ribbon

Instructions:

  1. Score the card base on the long side at 10.5cm, fold and burnish to form your landscape card.
  2. Emboss your separate card piece using your choice of embossing folder – I used one from the Basics Embossing folders which are my ultimate favourites – they are Online exclusives. Stick this piece to the top of your card front.
  3. Stick the piece of DSP to your card front overlapping the embossed piece.
  4. Add a strip of tear ‘n’ tape across the join then trim your ribbon and stick down to the card
  5. Die cut the holly frame from the Christmas Classics dies from the piece of Garden Green
  6. Stamp your greeting onto a scrap of Basic White then die cut using the inner die from the holly frame
  7. Stick the greeting to the centre of the holly die cut
  8. Add the completed sentiment across the front of your card using dimensionals
  9. Finish off by adding berries either die cut from Real Red card scraps or I used the Real Red pearlised Enamel Effects. Just make sure you allow that plenty of time to dry!
  10. Stamp a greeting on the Basic White inside panel and add a stamped holly and berry decoration. Stick this inside your card.
  11. Don’t forget to decorate your envelope!

So I made two cards using this layout, one Real Red base and one using Garden Green. I was going to reverse all the colours, but I felt a holly frame wasn’t right cut from Real Red! Which card do you like best?
