Welcome to week 2 of my 2023 Christmas Countdown, the second of twelve weeks of festive crafting inspiration. This week I’m making a quick and easy Christmas card using some of the gorgeous new DSP from the mini catalogue.

How many Christmas cards do you need to make each year? I make loads! Much though I love fun folds and complex cards, when I’m making so many cards I need them to be simple but effective – and the beautiful range of DSP makes cards so quick and easy.

This quick-to-make card uses the gorgeous Christmas Classics bundle with the Snowflake Magic DSP and some silver glimmer paper.

You will need:

  • Basic White card 21 x 14.8cm, scored at 10.5cm on the long side
  • White and silver DSP 14.3cm x 10cm
  • Piece of silver self-adhesive glimmer paper (an online exclusive product) approx 12cm x 9.5cm
  • Scrap of Basic White approx for embossing approx 10cm x 3cm
  • Silver embossing powder
  • Silver or Smoky Slate ink

This card is made as a landscape card. Stick the piece of DSP to your card base.

Use the rectangular holly frame die from the bundle to cut out a frame from the silver glimmer paper. This paper is self-adhesive, so no need for fiddly glueing – just peel off the backing and stick to the front of your card in the middle.

Use your embossing buddy on the scrap of white card to remove any fingerprint grease. Stamp your chosen sentiment (I used Seasons Greetings) across the centre and emboss using silver embossing powder. I will never tire of watching embossing power melt when you apply the heat from your heat gun – it’s magical!

When cool, use the inner frame die to cut out the sentiment and stick to your glimmer frame using dimensionals.

Stamp the holly leaves in silver or Smoky Slate ink inside your card and add your sentient in the same ink. Don’t forget to decorate your envelope in the same way.

At the end of the video, I show you a different but still quick and easy card using another of the sheets of snowflake magic. These speciality DSPs certainly make quick and easy (and stunning) cards. It is easy to set up a production line for these cards if you want to make several.

I’d love to see what you make!
