The theme for the first T4S blog hop of the New Year is Love. I’ve made a Valentine’s love card which I’ll be giving to my husband. Luckily he doesn’t read this blog! You might think this is a little early for Valentine’s Day, but the next blog hop won’t be published until Valentine’s Day itself, so it is appropriate to think about love cards and gifts now.
I’m delighted because it has given me a chance to play with some products from the new mini Catalogue. (Please get in touch if you live in the UK or Ireland if you would like a copy of the new catalogue.)
I’ve used products from the lovely Country Floral Lane suite. This includes the Country Bouquet stamp set, matching punch, two gorgeous sets of Designer Series Paper and various embellishments of ribbon and gems.
Later this week I’ll be posting a video of the matching Valentine’s day double side fold box I’ve made to go with this card. Come back next weekend to see that.
To make this card you need:
- Sweet Sorbet cardstock 21cm x 14.8cm, scored in half at 10.5 cm
- Country Gingham DSP 14.2cm x 10cm
- Sweet Sorbet card 11.4cm x 7.7cm
- Basic White card 11cm x 7.3cm
- Basic White card 13.8cm x 9.5cm (for the inside)
Fold the card base in half then stick the Country Gingham DSP piece to the front of the card.
On the smaller Basic White piece, stamp the “Happy Valentines Day sentiment” across the bottom in Sweet Sorbet. Add the tiny double hearts from the stamp set just above the Happy.
Stamp the two large heart stamps on this card by stamping off – ink the stamp them stamp onto scrap paper then onto your card. Line up the second heart and stamp in the same way. You may want to use your Stamperatus for this, or just line it up by eye.
Punch out a striped heart from the Country Floral Lane DSP (or stamp this heart on Basic White then punch out). Add this on top of your stamped-off heart using dimensionals.
On the inside piece of Basic White, stamp the tiny double hearts in each opposite corner as shown in the picture.
Stamp the larger heart from the double heart stamp in the centre then add the “I love you” sentiment.
Don’t forget to stamp your envelope too!
I hope you enjoyed this card. Please go on and look at the other wonderful makes from my fellow crafters by clicking the links below. Check back here at the weekend to see how I make a matching double-fold gift box.
