I learnt this simple fun fold from my upline who learnt it from Susan Campfield – thank you Susan! It looks stunning but it is a simple fun fold just requiring a few score lines. You can see two other cards I made in the same way on the YouTube video below.

This type of card can be made for just about any occasion. You can play around with the base card colour, you can put images rather than DSP on the panels and so on. It would also make a good masculine card if made using “male” colours, papers or images.

For the video for this card, I used the gorgeous Naturally Gilded Specialty paper which you really should get! I also used a Wild Wheat base and the In Color DSP. All the products used are listed below.

To make the card you need:

  • Base card 5 1/2″ x 11″ (14cm x 28cm) – colour is your choice!
  • Card for the V part 6″ x 3″ (7.5cm x 15cm) – same as base colour
  • Card base panels (3 or 4) 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ (4cm x 13.5cm) – these can be embossed card, DSP or stamped. I used DSP.
  • Card base panel back panel: 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ (4cm x 13.5cm)  – this size leave a strip uncovered as in my card, or a wider piece to fill the panel is 2″ x 5 1/4″ (5cm x 13.5cm)
  • V card panels layer 1: 2 7/8″ X 2 7/8″
  • V card panels layer 2: 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
  • Scraps for decor

Score the base card on the long side at 1 3/4″, 3 1/2″, 5 1/4″ and 7″ (4.5cm, 9cm, 13.5cm and 18cm). Fold like an accordion as shown in the video and burnish each fold. Looking from above it should look like a W.

Score the V piece in half at 3″ (7.5cm), fold and burnish. Looking from above it looks like a V.

Stick your panels to your base card in whatever way you wish!

Stick your panels to the outside of your V fold being careful to have the fold opening to your LEFT.

Stick the V panel to your W fold base as shown in the video. Be careful only to put glue on the outer third or so of the V panels.

Stamp your chosen sentiment and punch or die cut as required. I used the Stylish Shapes dies for mine. Add this/these to the V panel. Be careful to stick things flat to the inner part of the V panel. You can use dimension on the outer panel.  I finished my card using some leaves and stems punched from gold foil using the Bough punch.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope!
