Three Woolly Friends cards

Welcome to a New Year with Crafty Carol! Today I ran my Live Craftalong today on my YouTube channel and on my Facebook page (@craftycarolscards). I’m going to run these longer sessions every month rather than weekly like last year, however I may add some Zoom sessions if you want and prefer – let me know!

Today I used the gorgeous Woolly Friends bundle plus the Stylish Shapes dies to create three different cards using the gorgeous Woolly Friends bundle. I used the True Blue Florals (the December Product of the Month) DSP as well as some retired DSP, though you can use any DSP you want.

Woolly Friends Card 1:

I first saw a similar fancy fold on the Demonstrator Planning Place, but this is my version. You need:

• Thick Basic White card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)
• Two sheets of DSP of your choice with a coordinating pattern on the reverse: 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5¼”)
• Approximately 1/2 sheet of Basic White for stamping and die-cutting
• Woolly Friends stamp set + punch

Adhere one sheet of DSP to the card front.

Cut the second sheet of DSP in half lengthwise.

Use a pencil to mark halfway along the short side of each piece at the top and at the bottom. Also mark the centre of one long side.

Use your trimmer to score between the mark at the top and the centre, then from the bottom mark to the centre mark.

Fold each part back on itself and burnish well. Adhere to your card front.

Die cut the second largest Stylish Shapes circle from Basic White. See the video for how to do this to use the same piece for card 2.

Stamp your Woolly Friend sheep body and head plus bow if you wish and fussy cut or punch out. See the video for a great tip on how to set out your stamps to make this easy! Colour as you want.

Add the circle to the centre front of the card using dimensionals. Add your sheep on top using a dimensional for the head.

Add a sentiment stamped on a scrap of Basic White and trimmed.

Woolly Friends Card 2:

For this easel card you will need:

• Thick Basic White card base 10.5cm x 29.6cm scored at 7.4cm and 14.8cm (11” x 4¼” scored at 2¾” and 5½”)
• Basic White piece 1: 7cm x 14.1cm (2¾” x 5¼”)
• DSP 7.5cm x 14.5cm (3″ x 5½”)
• Basic White piece 2: 10.5 cm x 14.3cm (4¼” x 5¼”)
• Embossing folder of your choice
• Scraps for stamping images and sentiment

Emboss the Basic White piece 2.

Cut two Stylish Shapes circles from the Basic White piece 1. Stick to the DSP, leaving a tiny margin all the way round. Adhere these layers to the left-hand side of embossed Basic White piece 2.

Stamp and punch two sheep bodies, two heads and two bows. Colour as you wish. Adhere them flat into the two circles.

Stamp a third dancing body and another head plus bow, fussy cut and colour. Add to the right-hand side of the card front piece using dimensionals. Add a sentiment of you want – optional!

Fold the card base to form an easel card. Stick the bottom half of the completed front to the front of the easel card.

Stamp a sentiment and trim. Add to the bottom of the card using dimensionals to form the stop for the easel. I added two layers to the inside as well for some added interest, but this is optional.

Woolly Friends Card 3:

For this landscape card you will need:

• Thick Basic White Card base 10.5cm x 29.6cm scored at 14.8cm (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½”)
• DSP 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5¼”)
• Basic White piece 7.5cm x 14.3cm (3” x 5¼”)
• Basic White scraps for stamping and sentiment

Adhere the DSP across the centre of your card base front.

Stamp flowers with your chosen colours across the bottom area of the Basic White piece. Add some Balmy Blue wash across the “sky” area. See the video for details. Stick the completed piece across the centre of your card.

Stamp and punch out a sheep, bow and head, colour. Add to the front using dimensionals for the head.

Stamp a sentiment, trim and add to the bottom right of the card.
