Two-step stamping is where you stamp one stamp and then line up a coordinating stamp to add a second layer. There are two types. The first requires two different stamps that together complete an image and the second type usually has an outline stamp and a second stamp to provide an infill for that outline.

Each stamp is usually stamped in a different colour. In this video, I use the gorgeous Bottled Happiness stamp set which has a beautiful flowers and stems cluster formed by using two stamps.

The first step is to stamp the stem and leaves stamp in one colour – I used Parakeet Party. The second step is to stamp the flowers stamp in a different colour, in this case, Tahitian Tide. After completing these two stamping steps, the whole image is complete. It wouldn’t look right if it was just the stems or the flowers!

The key bit is to line the stamps up correctly and that’s what I focus on in this video.

Please do have a go at this technique if you have a suitable stamp set and let me know how you get on. You can always buy the Bottled Happiness stamp set (£22) and coordinating punch (£21) and if you add a bottle of multipurpose liquid glue or a pack of dimensionals, you’ll earn a £4.50 bonus coupon to redeem in August!
