I need more thank you cards – I seem to send a lot! So, for today’s Live, I wanted to show you how to make a simple tripanel card. The panels you use can be of any size, so this tripanel card is a great way to use up the scraps of DSP and/or cardstock you might have lying around – I used Woven Textures and Pecan Pie. I embossed my card panel to add interest.
I overlapped the panels I used and offset them slightly, then added decorative elements from the Thoughtful Wishes bundle, with some cork dots to finish it. This is my first tripanel card but I was not happy with the background flower and leaves element – I used Crumb Cake cardstock for it, but I think it is too pale to show as I wanted. In my Live, I therefore made this element out of Pecan Pie.

To make this tripanel card you will need:
- Crumb Cake base cardstock 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)
- Three panels approx 9cm x 5cm (3½” x 2″) – I used two DSP panels and one Pecan Pie cardstock panel
- Thoughtful Wishes bundle
- Basic Beige 11cm x 8cm (3½” x 4½”) for stamping
- Pecan Pie 13cm x 6cm (5½” x 2½”) for die-cutting
- Scraps of Basic Beige and Pecan Pie for the sentiment
- A favourite embossing folder (if using a cardstock panel – you could also make this card using cardstock pieces and three different embossing folders, or three different pieces of DSP or any mix – your choice!)
- Gems or cork dots (retired)
If using a cardstock panel, emboss this using a favourite embossing folder. I used one from the Basics Embossing Folders set.
Place your three panels on your card in whatever order looks best, overlapping them as you wish. I found when using a cardstock panel that it looked best at the bottom.
Stamp the large leaf fronds and thistle head in Pecan Pie on Basic Beige card and die-cut.
Die-cut the large decorative leaf die from Pecan Pie.
Add the die-cut leaves then the two die-cut stamped elements to the card front. I used dimensionals for the second one.
Stamp your sentiment in Pecan Pie on a scrap of Basic Beige. Angle one end.
Adhere this to a scrap of Pecan Pie and trim to leave a small border all the way around.
Stick it to the top right of the tripanel card, lining up the straight edge with your card base using dimensionals.
Add a few gems or cork dots to complete your tripanel card.
I stamped the small flower cluster inside the card for decoration – you could add a Basic White panel inside if you prefer – and also on the envelope. I coloured the flowers using a watercolour painter.
