It’s blog hop time again! This month the theme is Springtime. It’s also Valentine’s Day at the end of this week, so I decided to use one of the gorgeous FREE Saleabration items to make this springtime Valentine’s Day card which will be given to my husband!

I’ve used the Heart Shaped stamp set and coordinating dies (free with a £110 purchase until the end of February) for this card. The sentiments are beautiful and the gorgeous dies provide so many opportunities for creativity.
I made a similar springtime card in my live Craft with Carol today (every Tuesday at 2pm) to demonstrate the decorative scoring technique – you can see that card in the video at the end of this post. Here’s a picture of the bundle:

To make this springtime Valentine’s card you will need:
- Basic White card base 21cm x 14.8cm (8½” x 5½”)
- Basic White panel 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3¾” x 5”)
- Basic White scrap for die-cutting approx 7cm square (3″)
- Basic White scrap for stamping and die-cutting flowers
- Scrap of Soft Sea Foam for die cutting leaves
- Pretty in Pink and Smoky Slate ink pads
Instructions:
1. Score the base card at 10.5cm (4¼”), fold and burnish well.
2. Stamp the heart in stamped-off Smoky Slate ink just above the centre of the Basic White panel. Stamping off means inking up the stamp and stamping it once on a scrap of paper before stamping where you want it.
3. Stamp the sentiment in Pretty in Pink in the centre of the stamped heart.
4. Use the Simply Scored scoreboard to score three lines down each side and across the top and bottom of this panel by using three neighbouring channels on the scoreboard.

5. Adhere the panel to your card front using dimensionals.
6. Die-cut the heart from Basic White. Use tiny dots of multipurpose glue on some leaves and stick on top of the stamped heart on the card front.
7. Stamp the three flower cluster in Pretty in Pink ink on a scrap of Basic White and die-cut.
8. Die-cut three leaves from Soft Sea Foam cardstock.
9. Add the flowers using dimensionals as shown in the picture and tuck the leaves behind, sticking down with multipurpose glue.
10. Add a sentiment inside by using a stamped-off heart in Smoky Slate and a sentiment in Pretty in Pink. Stamp the three flowers in Pretty in Pink to the corner- this is optional!

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I stamped the flowers again to decorate mine.
For the card I showed in the video, I used some of the gorgeous Beautiful Bokeh DSP to add a background to my main panel. I used Soft Sea Foam to stamp and die-cut the hearts and I die-cut the single flower three times from Melon Mambo for decoration, with the leaves in Granny Apple Green. I was going to score the edges again, but forgot to do it before I stuck the card front down flat! Luckily a steel ruler and embossing tool just about saved the day….
I also added some pearls to the flower centres after I’d taken this photo ass I thought it needed it.
Here is the second springtime card and the video of making it is below:

Love how you scored the border yourself to create a frame. I’m sure your hubby will love the card you made for him especially! Tfs.
Thank you. yes, scoring is highly effective and an underused technique.
A very classy looking card!
I love this Sale-a-Bration bundle and your cards are so pretty.
