I’m so excited to be joining in with the Tech 4 Stampers blog hop for the first time. I feel honoured to be allowed to join in with this wonderful group of talented crafters.
The theme this month is Cards for Kids. I needed to make a card for my great-niece, so this was very timely!
There are so many lovely stamp sets in the current catalogues you could use for children’s cards, but I decided to use Hippest Hippos. (You can get this stamp set and the matching dies for free with a £90 order from current catalogues.)
Instructions
I’ve used a Polished Pink card base (21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded at 10.5cm). The 2021-2023 In Colour DSP layer is 10cm x 14.3cm. I cut out the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies in vellum and added it with a small strip of tear and tape placed so it is hidden behind the hippo.
The Happy Birthday sentiment uses a retired die, cut from gold foil, but you could use the Biggest Wish stamp set (p40 in the annual catalogue) and emboss it in gold.
I stamped the dancing hippo and coloured it in using Smoky Slate and Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends. I used a retired large number die for the number 2 which I cut out of silver foil from the speciality pack (p139 annual catalogue). You could make your own template – I’d suggest using the “2” from page 158 of the catalogue and enlarging it,.
And never forget to decorate your envelope!

I love this stamp set and I have already used it to make many cards. I hope you enjoyed this one.
