I am sorry I have not managed to run my live this week, record any videos, or write any crafting posts, but it has been a bit hectic!

As you probably know, Himself and I went to Norway on holiday. We had a brilliant time – more on that in my email this week. I fed reindeer, drove a snowmobile, went on a dog sled and had a drink in an ice hotel, as well as saw plenty of different places/ports as we passed in our cruise ship.

But then Storm Éowyn hit. This monster storm caused the first-ever red weather warning for Northern Ireland. We monitored it from afar. Our weather station recorded a gust of 82.2 mph – before the fence and attached weather station met an untimely end…. Daughter no. 2 was at home coping with everything, moving whatever could be moved prior to the storm hitting then having to deal with the aftermath and making sure mum was OK. She was, but her polytunnel wasn’t.

The worst problem from the storm was the loss of electricity and therefore no light, oven, or heating for some time. The NIE crew were brilliant and repaired the fault (a tree falling across the power line in a neighbour’s garden) after three days. Those poor people are having to work so hard – as I write this (Thursday) there are still nearly 15,000 people in NI without power. My heart goes out to them.

Our power had been out for over 48 hours, so to be safe, and following advice, I felt I had to throw everything out from the freezer. Still, it was a good excuse to clean an appliance which had not been cleaned for, ahem, some time…. In some ways, it was liberating and I plan to be better organised about what I keep in the freezer in future.

Anyway, the need to deal with all this is why there have been no crafting posts this week.

But I hope you can join me at my LIVE on YouTube and/or Facebook next Tuesday 4th February at 2pm.

Also, please join me on Zoom next Thursday 6th February at 11am for my live Craftalong. The Zoom link and a list of the supplies you’ll need will be in this week’s email , so sign up (below) before Saturday if you have not already done so.

Everything will be back to normal from next week, assuming no further storm disruptions….

Stay safe everyone!
