In today’s Live, I made a simple aperture card using the large rectangular die from the Nested Essentials set and the large image from the Charming Day stamp set.

Any medium-sized die and a similar sized image can be used to make this style of aperture card.

Here is a close-up of the aperture card front:

To make this card you will need:

  • Shy Shamrock base card 10.5cm x 29.6cm (11” x 4¼”)
  • Basic White inside panel 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3¾” x 5”)
  • Basic White scrap for sentiment 4cm x 2.5cm (1½” x 1″)
  • Shy Shamrock and Memento ink pads
  • Shy Shamrock ribbon
  • Stampin Blends of your choice

The instructions and the video are below:

Score the base card in half on the long side at 14.8cm (5½”), fold and burnish well.

Choose your die to create the aperture card – I used the largest rectangular die from Nested Essentials. Place it on your card towards the right-hand side and die-cut. Keep the cut-out shape for another card!

Stamp the leaf image from the Charming Day stamp set randomly around the card front using Shy Shamrock ink.

Place the inside Basic White panel inside your card where it will sit, close the card and lightly mark the aperture with a pencil.

Stamp the large flower image oin Memento so it sits in the area marked. Rub out any obvious pencil lines.

Colour the image using Stampin Blends of your choice – I used Fresh Freesia, Bubble Bath and Shy Shamrock blends.

Stamp the inside sentiment in Shy Shamrock on the left-hand side of the panel. Stick the panel inside the card.

When the card is closed, the image will show through the aperture, hence why it is a simple aperture card.

Stamp the Thanks sentiment in Memento on the small Basic White piece. Add this to the card front using dimensionals.

Tie a bow in Shy Shamrock ribbon and add below the sentiment on the front of the card. You can add a few gems if you want as well.

Stamp the small flower on your envelope and colour to match your main image.
