It’s time for another Tech4Stampers blog hop. This month the theme is Flowers. I was delighted about this because it gave me the chance to use a bundle I had bought some time ago but never used.

T4S blog hop

The Translucent Florals stamp set and dies first appeared in the September to December mini catalogue, but I am delighted to see that they remain available as Online Exclusives until stock runs out. I decided to make a shaped card using the Translucent Florals leaves stamp.

You will need:

  • Basic White cardstock 21cm x 14.8cm (8 ½” x 5 ½”)
  • Basic White piece 3cm x 14.3cm (1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″)
  • Approx half a sheet Basic White cardstock for stamping
  • Sweet Sorbet and Parakeet Party ink pads
  • Basics 3D embossing folders (Online Exclusives)

Score the card base in half at 10.5cm (4 1/4″), fold and burnish.

Stamp three leaf clusters in Parakeet Party and one each of the flower heads in Sweet Sorbet onto your stamping Basic White piece. Die-cut out using the Translucent Floral dies (or fussy cut).

Stick the three leaf pieces down the right-hand side of your card front. Make them overlap so that there is a “line” of leaf edges running all the way down the card. Once these have stuck down properly, fussy cut along the outer edge.

Stamp two stems and two double leaf clusters in Parakeet Party at the bottom of the front of the card as shown in the picture at the top of this post. Stamp two or three sprigs in Sweet Sorbet near the top of the card, leaving space for a sentiment.

Add the two die-cut flowers overlapping in the centre of the stamped area using dimensionals.

Stamp your chosen sentiment in Mememto. Cut out and trim as you wish – I angled both sides. Add to the top of your card using dimensionals.

Dry emboss the Basic White piece using the flowery Basic 3D embossing folder (or another folder of your choice). Stick this piece on the inside of your card on the outer edge, so that it shows behind your cut edge – see the photo below.

Stamp an inside sentiment of your choice in Memento ink inside your card. Add the sprig stamp to the bottom left inside, stamping once then stamping again without re-inking the stamp (this technique is called stamping off). You can see the result below.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I used the sprig stamp and Sweet Sorbet again.
