I love punches! Punches are an easy and quick way to add elements and interest to projects.

We had great fun in our Carol’s Crafters team meeting today playing with punches. I got out all my current and old flower and leaf punches for us to play with.

I decided to make a card with a sheet of DSP as a base and punched flowers on top, others chose to decorate a notebook. This just shows the versatility of punches!

To make a similar project, choose a sheet of DSP and cut it to 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5¼” for US cardstock).

Select a colour from the DSP and use this as your base cardstock colour – I chose Basic Black. Use your punches to punch out whatever flowers you want in different colours, sizes and shapes, using the colours in your DSP as a guide.

Add small circle or mini flower punches for the centres.

I added interest to my white daisies by using a sponge dauber to add some Balmy Blue to the centres before adding the Darling Duckling circle centre, to which I added some Wink of Stella.

I use a variety of leaf punches to add some Granny Apple Green leaves.

A few gems on the other flowers completed my project.

Why not get out your punches and have a go? You can decorate almost anything with punches – containers, samplers, cards, notebooks, vases, cases – the only limit is your imagination (and what punches you have!)

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
