I love making pop up cards and enjoy making this one.
We also made a fun fold cracker card in this Craftalong – see separate [post about that!
Measurements
Feel free to mix and match different coloured cardstock and DSP as you wish. I used a retired Christmas DSP
- Base cardstock 21cm x 14.8cm, score in half 10.5cm
- Inner Basic White cardstock 8 1/8”x 5 ¾” scored LS at 4 1/16”
- Front panel DSP 10cm x 14.3cm
- Basic White panel 8.5cm x 12cm for front decoration
- DSP inner strips (you need 2) 5 3/4″ x 1″
- DSP for presents (1 of each size): 2 7/8″ x 1 7/8″, 2 3/8″ X 1 3/16″, 1 15/16″ X 15/16″ plus scraps for front decorations
Fold base card in half.
Mark inner card stock layer as shown in the diagram below and as described in the video on YouTube. Cut horizontal marked likes and score vertical lines as shown.
Carefully fold your inner panel to encourage the presents to fold outwards into the card (mountain folds). Work each present score line by hand as shown in the video, then when all are done, burnish with bone folder.
Stick carefully into base card. (NOTE: You can do your inner stamping before sticking the inner card to the base card if you prefer.(
Add DSP strips to each side as shown in video. Fold each “present” piece of DSP in half before sticking onto card.
Add ribbon bow if wanted.
Decorate the from panel as required – I used the Words of Cheer stamp set in the top picture and DSP scraps with gold twine bows as an alternative.
