For my Live today, I made two Christmas cards using products from the gorgeous Peaceful Garden suite. I used Night of Navy card for the card bases with Basic White inserts, and I used the Peaceful Garden DSP and Glimmer paper for decoration. To provide some added bling, I used silver embossing for my sentiments and some retired faceted gems, plus the Misty Moonlight silver-edged ribbon from the suite.

These cards can be adapted to any other occasion simply by changing the sentiment used.

You will need:

  • Card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)
  • DSP: 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5¼”)
  • Basic White (card 1): 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3¾” x 5”)
  • Basic White (card 2): 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5¼”)
  • Glimmer paper, Night of Navy and Basic White for die-cutting
  • Basic White 2cm x 13.5cm (¾” x 5½”) for banner sentiments
  • Peace on Earth bundle or dies

You can see how to make both cards in the video below, but here are the instructions as well.

CARD 1

Score and burnish the card base.

Adhere the DSP sheet to the front of the card.

Die-cut the larger shaped rectangle from blue Glimmer paper and the smaller one from Night of Navy cardstock.

Die-cut two large sprigs and one small plus the three star cluster from blue Glimmer paper.

Die-cut the two doves from Basic White.

Stick the two rectangular die-cuts together then add to the centre of the card front using dimensionals. Stick the fronds behind, cutting them if you wish. Add the doves.

Score the Basic White strip at 1.5cm and 2.5cm from both ends. Emboss your sentiment (I used a retired stamp set) in silver on the centre of the strip. Flag both ends and fold as mountain and valley to form the banner.

Add the sentiment strip to the card as shown in the video, adhering both ends and making sure it lies flat for posting.

Add some gems to finish the card if you wish.

Stamp a greeting on the Basic White panel either in Night of Navy or emboss if you wish. Add the stars for decoration. Don’t forget to decorate your envelope!

CARD 2

The second Peaceful Garden card is made in a similar way to card 1, but this time I did not use a banner sentiment, but instead, I embossed a sentiment in the centre shaped rectangular die-cut in silver. I also added a length of the gorgeous Misty Moonlight silver-edged ribbon across the card. I used silver glimmer fronds and gems for additional decoration.

The inside panel was embossed with the Peaceful Garden embossing folder with a sentiment stamped in Night of Navy ink inside it. Don’t forget to decorate your envelope! Either stamp an image or you could emboss the envelope too.
