Who doesn’t love a simple folded no-glue box to make?
I have made these square boxes in three sizes, 6cm (2 3/8”), 8.5cm (3 1/4”) and 11cm (4 3/8”) ,all from simple squares of Designer Series Paper. The lids fit snugly, and they will fit a variety of small gifts.

To make these boxes you need two squares of DSP. After experimentation, I found that the piece you want to use for the lid needs to be 0.5cm (1/4″) larger than the piece for the box base to produce the best fit.
The video and the pictures show me making the middle-sized box using 23cm (9″) square DSP for the base and 23.5cm (9 1/4″) square DSP for the lid. But you can use any size DSP you wish – the finished box will measure just over 1/3rd of the DSP size. The lids and the bases are made in exactly the same way.
The instructions are given below or watch the video on my YouTube channel @craftycarolscards.
Step 1: Fold the DSP diagonally corner to corner.

Step 2: Open up, turn through 90 degrees and repeat the diagonal fold

Step 3: Open and fold each corner into the centre in turn

Step 4: Fold the bottom edge in to the centre

Step 5: Repeat this fold on the other (top) side.
Step 6: Open, turn through 90 degrees and repeat these two side folds.
Step 7: Pull up one corner.

Step 8: Take the top corner of the side of the box and fold inwards

Step 9: Now bring the box side up and fold in – this forms a triangle

Step 10: Repeat for the other side

Step 11: Fold the end over and squeeze to form the box side.

Step 12: Repeat with the opposite corner

Repeat all the above steps with the second piece of DSP to form the lid.

Your box is complete. Decorate the top however you want!
