It’s Tech4Stampers blog hop time again – it’s scary how quickly it comes around each month! This month our group is challenged to make a card with no images, just words. I have to admit I scratched my head for a while until I came up with my just words idea. I hope you like it.

T4S blog hop

You will need:

  • Basic White cardstock 21cm x 14.8cm scored in half at 10.5cm (8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”)
  • Fresh Freesia layer 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5 ¼”)
  • Basic White layer 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3 ¾’ x 5”)
  • Fresh Freesia panels x 4: 4.75cm x 3.45cm (1 7/8″ x 1 1/4″)
  • Fresh Freesia cardstock scrap approx 8cm x 5cm (3 1/2″ x 2″)
  • Basic White scrap approx 7cm x 4cm (2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″)
  • Gorgeous Grape and Fresh Freesia stamp pads
  • Thoughtful Expressions or similar frame dies
  • Hooray for Surprises stamp set
  • White or iridescent trim approx 30cm (12″)

Stamp the “You’re the best” just words sentiment in Gorgeous Grape in the centre of each Fresh Freesia panel.

Carefully arrange and adhere these panels to the Basic White layer butting them up to the edges and making sure the corners match to form a just words chequerboard pattern.

Stamp the “Make a wish” just words sentiment in Fresh Freesia in the remaining spaces.

Emboss this panel using any embossing folder of your choice – I used the new So Swirly embossing folder from the new catalogue.

Stick this completed panel to the Fresh Freesia layer and add to your card front.

Stamp your just words greeting in Gorgeous Grape to your basic White scrap. Die cut this using the smallest Thoughtful Expressions rectangle frame die. Die cut a frame from the Fresh Freesia scrap using the next size up die. Adhere these frames together.

Add a strip of tear & tape to the centre of the card front and wind the length of ribbon up and down back and forth using the tear & tape to hold it in place.

Add your completed sentiment on top using dimensionals.

I have to admit I did go a bit off-piste from the just words brief with the inside of the card – I added the cake stamp image from that stamp set in the corner! And I added it to decorate the envelope too.

But I hope you’ll forgive me.

I made a second card using a different colour combination in my Craft with Carol LIVE (every Tuesday at 2pm on YouTUbe and Facebook) today – the video is below.

Please check out the wonderful cards made by my fellow T4S stampers – such ingenuity and style! The products I used are listed below.

See you again soon!

I hope you like this card and will have a go at making one – please show me what you come up with.
