In my Craft with Carol LIVE this week we made monochrome butterfly cards using some of the gorgeous 2024-2026 In Colors. Monochrome does not mean just black and white!

Find out how to use a stamping-off technique to colour the butterflies using the coordinating ink pads. You can add other embellishments to the cards as well, such as ribbon or gems – one of the beauties of the colour co-ordination with these lovely products.
To make the card you need:
- 2024-26 In Color card base 21cm x 14.8cm (8 ½” x 5 ½”) scored at 10.5cm (4 ¼” )
- 2024-26 In Color Designer Series Paper 14.3cm x 10cm (4” x 5 ¼”)
- Basic White scraps for the sentiment and butterflies
- Basic White 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3 ¾” x 5”) for inside
- 2024-26 In Color embellishments – gems and ribbon – as you wish!
If using ribbon, wrap this around the DSP before sticking it to your card front. I use tear & tape to stick ribbon on – see the video for details.
Add the form stamp to a block by dropping it inside down onto your desk to allow it to relax then pick it up on your block. Stamp the frame in your chosen In Color ink and add your chosen sentiment in the same ink inside the frame. Punch or die cut it out.
I felt there was a lot of white space in the Pretty in Pink sentiment on the card I made in the video, so I added a stamped off butterfly behind the text.
Then stamp three butterfly outlines in your chosen In Color onto scraps of Basic White.
Add the infill butterfly shape by stamping off before adding to the butterfly- see the video for how to do this if you are not sure. Fussy cut all three butterflies. Shape the by using your bone folder on the wings – again, see the video if you are not sure how to do this.
Add the sentiment and the butterflies to your card using dimensionals. Add gems if you can find yours – I couldn’t find mine!
Decorate the inside of the card with another stamped butterfly and a sentiment of your choice. I think the Enjoy Today is a super sentiment to fit most occasions.
