Accordion cards are real wow cards. I love seeing the recipient’s face as they open them!
We had great fun making these at a recent Craft ‘n’ Chat class. Although they are time-consuming to make, accordion cards are not as difficult as they might look.
I show you how to make a two layer accordion card in the video below, but if you prefer to have a written guide, you can find the full step-by-step instructions in my shop.
You’ll need plenty of cardstock and DSP for these cards because they do use qute a lot of product. Two layer accordion cards can be made from around four sheets of A4 cardstock but you will need two or three sheets of 12″ x 12″ cardstock for a three layer accordion card. Plus a fair amount of DSP, around seven or eight sheets of 6″ x 6″ DSP or two or three of 12 x 12″ DSP.
If you are short on cardstock you can omit the Basic White layer – I just think it looks better with that layer added.
I ended up making three of these for seperate occassions over one week!
The picture at the top of the page shows a two layer card, here is a three layer one made for my husbands 65th birthday.

The video for how to make any size box with a lid will be out very soon – watch this space! Again, for a three layer accordion card you will need a sheet of 12″ x 12″ cardstock for the base, but the lid has a smaler rim so you can use A4 cardstock for that.
I haven’t added a product list for these cards because you can use any colour cardstock and DSP you have and decorate it with any stamp or die set.
