I love giving small gifts and this gift box, to fit three battery tea lights or any similar-sized present, is very easy to make. You can use any colour Designer Series Paper you have together with a piece of coordinating cardstock.

One of the lovely things about Stampin Up! DSP is that the colours used are listed on every DSP pack so it is easy to choose coordinating cardstock for your projects. I used the gorgeous Painted Christmas DSP for these boxes. My first box used Soft Succulent as the base and the second used Crumb Cake.

Instructions

Choose a piece of DSP and a piece of cardstock in a coordinating colour. You also need a scrap of cardstock and of Basic White for the sentiment, together with a piece of coordinating ribbon approximately 9″ (23cm) long.

Cut one cardstock piece and one DSP piece, both 4 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ (11.5cm x 19cm).

The cardstock is scored at 1 1/2″ (3.8cm) on each side. Score the DSP at 1 1/2″ (3.9cm) on each side too, but just a tiny tad less on the shorter ends and one longer side.

Fold and burnish each score line.

Cut down the ends of the cardstock piece as shown, mitring the side tabs a tiny bit.

Cut out two opposite end squares from the DSP piece then cut across the remaining two side score lines.

Make a tiny pen mark in the centre of the other long side. Cut out a half circle as shown. You can use a punch or a small circle die for this. It is vital you do this before making up the box!

Fold in the ends of the box and glue firmly making sure the corners are square. Fold the front tabs on the top over the side piece and glue.

Complete the box by glueing the back long tab to the outside of the box.

Stamp your chosen sentiment on a scrap of Basic White and punch out with the Label Me Fancy punch. (I used a sentiment from the lovely Brightest Glow stamp set, 159532.) Mount with dimensionals onto a piece of cardstock punched with the Lasting Label punch.

Stick your ribbon down across the top of the box making a faux bow – see the video for details. Add your completed sentiment on top using four dimensionals.

I have loved making several of these gift boxes. I hope you do too!
