Today’s past demonstrates the gorgeous Fluffiest Friends online exclusive stamp set together with the Softly Stippled DSP which is free with a £45 order during Saleabration. The cards also showcase the fabulous Everyday Details dies from the new mini catalogue. I think I’m in love with these dies!

I’ve also used the Cheery Patterns embossing folders which are again an online exclusive. If you don’t have these you can use any other embossing folder you wish, or use a second piece of contrasting DSP instead.

I wanted to show a simple card layout that, when used with different colours and images, produces some lovely cards. You can use any DSP you have, change the colours, use contrast cardstock, DSP, or ribbon for the centre strip, and add gems or other embellishments as you wish. It’s a very versatile layout as I demonstrated during my Craftalong this week.

(By the way, if you want to join in my live Craftalongs in future, sign up for my emails to get all the details!)

For these card layouts you will need:

List here

  • Base Cardstock 21cm x 14.8cm (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″)
  • Cardstock piece 10.5cm x 5.5cm (4 1/4″ x 2 1/4″). (Alternatively use a second, contrasting piece of DSP 10cm x 5.5cm (4″ x 2 1/4″)
  • DSP piece 10cm x 9cm (4″ x 3 1/2′)
  • Contrast strip of cardstock or DSP 10.5cm x 2cm (4 1/4″ x 3/4″)
  • Basic White approx 9cm (3 1/2″) square
  • Basic White scrap for front sentiment
  • Inner Basic White panel 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3 3/4″ x 5″)
  • Strip of DSP for inner panel 9.5cm x 4cm (3 3/4″ x 1 1/2″)

To make the cards, follow the instructions below. You can watch the video if you prefer.

Score your base cardstock in half at 10,5cm (4 1/4″). Fold and burnish

Emboss your small cardstock piece with one of the Cheery Patterns embossing folders (or other embossing folder). Stick this to the bottom front of your card.

Stick the DSP piece to the top of the card above your embossed piece.

(Optional) Add a strip of contrasting colour cardstock or DSP across the centre of the card. This is a good way to use up scraps as I did in the video, where I show you a trick if your strip is not quite long enough!

Here’s the video – instructions continue below:

Stamp your chosen Fluffiest Friend image in Memento onto the larger piece of Basic White. Die cut out with the appropriate size Everyday Details circular die.

Colour your image using Stampin Blends. The video shows you how I do my colouring, though I am by no means an expert.

Stamp your sentiment in Memento on the Basic White strip. Die cut with the smallest Everyday Details rectangle die.

Stamp a sentiment on the inside Basic White piece. Cut the inner DSP strip in half at 2cm (3/4″) and stock one to the top and one to the bottom of the inner piece. Stock the completed piece into your card.

Use dimensionals to attach your sentiment trip to the upper right of the card. Add the circular image to the centre of the card over the strip.

Add gems, ribbon or your chosen embellishments to finish your card.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope. I covered the envelope flap with the same DSP as I used on the card.
