We had great fun yesterday at my FREE Craftalong class via Zoom making this diamond fold card. I provided the supplies list in my email so everyone could craft along with me. These FREE online classes run each month, usually on the first Thursday – sign up to my emails to get all the details.

This easy to make diamond fold card is a simple fun fold made special by the diamond front piece which showcases the image. A sentiment is added below the image. I first made this fun fold card at our crafting team meeting where it was shared by the lovely Ann Scott who had seen it on YouTube. Making the diamond flap was a bit fiddly. But I have worked out an easier way to make the point that is cut for the diamond on the front fold of the card. Read on to find out how!

The measurements and instructions for the diamond fold card are given below. I used Petunia Pop cardstock and Unbounded Beauty DSP with images from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set.

You could also watch the video which you will find near the end of this post. In the video, I made a card using the same DSP but with Peach Pie cardstock and a cute image from the Fluffiest Friend stamp set. Here it is:

To make a diamond fold card you will need:

  • Colour Cardstock base: 10.5cm x 29.6cm (11” x 4 ¼”)
  • Colour cardstock diamond: 7.4cm x 7.4cm (3 1/16″ x 3 1/16″)
  • Basic White diamond 7cm x 7cm (2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″)
  • DSP: 8cm x 9.7cm (3″ x 4″)
  • DSP: 5.5cm x 9.7cm (2 1/8″ x 4″)
  • Basic White inner panel: 8cm x 9.7cm (3″ x 4″)
  • Scraps of Basic White for stamping and the sentiment
  • Scrap of colour cardstock for the sentiment

Score the cardstock base at 6cm and 14.8cm (2 3/8″ and 5 1/2″). Fold the card in half as usual and burnish. Fold the second fold back on itself to form the fun fold.

Place the colour cardstock diamond against this flap, lining up the points of the diamond up and down to the fold. Use a pencil to draw a line around the edge of the diamond on the flap itself. Use your trimmer to cut the flap to a half-diamond shape.

Stick the larger DSP panel to the left-hand side of the card front. Open the card and stick the smaller panel to the right-hand side of the back of the card. If you wish, stamp a decoration or sentiment on the Basic White panel, then stick this to the left-hand side of the inside of the card.

Stick the coloured diamond to the card front flap adding glue to the flap and lining up the diamond carefully, Add the Basic White diamond on top.

Stamp your image(s) on a scrap of Basic White. I used the gorgeous Irresistible Blooms flowers and leaves. Colour if needed and cut out. Add to the diamond area of the card using dimensionals as shown.

Stamp your sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White. Cut out as required. Add to a backing piece of cardstock if you wish, then add to the card underneath your image.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope!
