For my first project of 2024 I thought I’d make a quick and easy desk calendar.

I’ve used Pumpkin Pie cardstock. This is not my favourite colour but I have given myself some targets to use colours I don’t often use this year. The beauty of this project is that you can get three calendars from one sheet of A4 cardstock.

I teamed the cardstock up with the copper sheet from the fabulous Naturally Gilded DSP. The gold, silver and copper colours and shine in this DSP are simply gorgeous so get it while you can!

I bought the calendar tabs for this project from Amazon. (If you have the stamp set Days to Remember you could possibly make your own calendar tabs but it is a bit fiddly and this would not then be a quick and easy project.)

Here’s the video of how to make it. Instructions can also be found below.

You will need:

  • Pumpkin Pie cardstock – see below for cutting
  • Naturally Gilded DSP 2 pieces 9.2cm x 8cm (3 5/8″ x 3 1/4″)
  • Sentiment – I used one from the Zany Zoo stamp set
  • Metallic embossing powder
  • Heat tool

Cut the cardstock on the long side at 9.9cm (3 7/8″). You can get three calendars from one sheet of A4 cardstock.

Score on the long side at 8.5cm, 17cm, 18.5cm and 20cm (3 1/2″, 7″, 7 1/2″ and 8″)

Fold these in order as mountain, mountain, valley and mountain folds – see the video if you are not sure about this.

Open out again on your desk. Stick one piece of DSP to each large panel. If your DSP is directional, have the images pointed towards each other at the fold.

Stick your calendar tab to the lower half of the centre panel using liquid glue.

Stamp your chosen sentiment. I embossed the sentiment in the metallic copper embossing powder to match the paper. The sentiment I chose was from the Zany Zoo set, but you could use any suitable sentiment from any set you have.

Flag the completed sentiment at each end and add to your calendar using dimensionals.

To make up the calendar, add a piece of tear and tape to the small end tab, Hold the folds closed and fold down the back of the calendar onto the tab to fix it together. See the video if you are not sure about this.

I’ll be sending these desk calendars out with my mini and Sale-a-Bration (SAB) catalogues which both started yesterday. There are some wonderful new sets, DSP, punches, dies and embellishments and you will get a FREE SAB item for every £45 you spend on any current products. If you live in the UK or Ireland, please ask and I will send you copies of the new catalogues, together with your own desk calendar!
