For my Craftalong (free via Zoom) this month I made a very simple card I’ve called a cut funfold card. The cut off panel forms the funfold part. There is no video for this card as I don’t record these free sessions, but I have included instructions below. Why not join me live next time? Just sign up for my emails to get all the information.
To make this card you need:
- Card base 10.5cm x 29.6cm (11” x 4¼”)
- DSP 10cm x 14.3cm (4″ x 5¼”) plus two strips 14.3cm x 1.5cm (5″ x ¾”) (optional)
- Basic White for inside: 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3¾” x 5”)
- Basic White rectangle approx 7cm x 10cm (3″ x 4″) for sentiment plus scrap for additional stamping
- Stamp set with medium sized sentiment and/or image (plus colouring options (blends, markers or pencils) if required)
- Ribbon and/or gems for decoration

I used products from the gorgeous Traditions of Christmas suite for this card. The pointsetta is from the Christmas Greenery stamp set. The sparkling sequins are fabulous and the specialty DSP is to die for! The sentiment I used is from the retired Brightest Glow stamp set. The gold edged ribbon I used is still available, I think.
Instructions
Score the card base on the long side at 14.8cm (5½”).
Cut off a piece 7cm (2½”) from one end. Score on the short edge at 1cm (½”).
On the long side cut the DSP piece at 7.3cm (2¾”). Turn the remaining piece longways and trim to 6.7cm (may not need to trim US size).

Stick the first DSP piece to the side panel and the trimmed piece to the cut fun fold panel. Fold at the score line on this panel.
Trim the Basic White piece for the inside to 13.3cm wide (4¾”)
Stamp your main sentiment for the front onto the other Basic White piece and die-cut or punch out (I used a Brightest Glow die).
Stamp a sentiment and any decoration you want inside the card onto this piece and adhere inside your card, lining it up with a small border at the inner edge and leaving room to attach the fun fold panel (1cm or ½”) on the outside edge using tear & tape. It should look like this when open:

Add the completed sentiment to the front of the card using dimensionals. Add any stamped and cut out decoration and gems you wish. I used some of the gorgeous Sparkling Sequins for the centre of my cut-out pointsetta and on the sentiment panel.
If you want, adhere the optional two strips of DSP at the top and the bottom on the card inside so they cover up the white section visible above and below the fun fold panel – I could not decide which look I preferred so we decided during the free Craftalong!
I wrapped some ribbon around the left hand panel, securing it with tear & tape, then added a bow on top using glue dots to complete my card.

I hope you like this card and will have a go at making one – please show me what you come up with.
