In my free live Craftalong on Zoom today we made a circle frame card. There’s no video for this card (I don’t record the Zoom session), but I have given instructions below if you want to have a go.

I used the circular Stylish Shapes dies to make my circle frame cards by placing two dies one inside the other. The centre stamped image is punched out using a circle punch then the card is decorated to suit your image and purpose.

You will need:

  • A stamp set with a medium sized image
  • Coloured cardstock base 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)
  • Stylish Shapes or other circle dies
  • Circle punch to fit your image
  • Coordinating DSP 8cm x 11cm and scraps for punching if you wish
  • Contrast cardstock for the image frame approx 1/4 sheet
  • Scraps of Basic White for stamping your sentiment
  • Blends or markers for colouring your image

Here are the supplies for my prototype circle frame card. Either of these stamp sets shown can be used to make this circle frame card. I made this card for my great-nephews birthday using the Silly Safari stamp set:

Here is my prototype circle frame card. I used the Gathering Leaves embossing folder on the front of the card, added the DSP banner (piece 8cm x 13cm), adhered the stamped circle flat and the Crumb Cake frame using dimensionals, then added some die-cut leaves around it. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso and layered on Crumb Cake and the number was die-cut from Gold foil using a retired large number die.

And here is the inside. I used all the animals from this fun stamp set in this circle frame card and the envelope!

Here are the supplies I used for the flower circle frame card I made in the Zoom Craftalong:

The punches are retired, but you could any punched or die-cut flowers for decoration.

This circle frame card is made in the same way as the Silly Safari card, embossing the card front using the Layered Florals embossing folder, stampin the image and colouring using blends, then making a circle frame using the Stylish Shapes dies. The DSP I used for my flowers is retired but again you could use any DSP that coordinates with your colour scheme.

Here is my second finished circle frame card:

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you have a go at making a circle frame card. As you can see they can be made for any occasion.
