This week, in the penultimate Christmas Countdown, I show you how to make a small gift box. I love giving gifts in hand made boxes and it’s easy to change the sizes to fit the gifts – I’ll do another blog on that one day!
Measurements
- Painted Christmas DSP 10 ½” x 7 ½“
- Snowflake Splendour Ribbon
- Scraps basic white and gold foil for sentiment and decoration
- Words of Cheer stamp set
- Christmas Cheer dies
- Label Me Fancy punch
Score DSP on the LONG side at 2 ½, 5, 7 ½” and 10”. Turn and score SHORT side at 2 ½, 5, and 6 ½”.
Fold and burnish all score lines. Cut bottom flaps up to score line. Mitre side flap.
Trim top of box by cutting off all except one tab – round the corners of this tab.
Tape the side flap and form the box. Glue bottom flaps together to form the base.
Gently ease the sides in to form the top as shown on the video. Tuck the flap in behind the front of the box.
Add ribbon, adhering it to the bottom and sides of your box. Add gift then tie ribbon in a bow at the top – if you want to hang it on your tree, use a longer length and tie in a knot above the box.
Stamp your sentiment on a scrap of punched or die cut basic white. Stick to the front of your box with dimensionals and decorate as required.
