In my Live this week I used the gorgeous Changing Leaves bundle to make a pretty foliage greeting card which can be used for just about any occasion.

The Changing Leaves bundle includes a fabulous stamp set, several dies and a hybrid embossing folder. The possibilities are immense with this lovely bundle. You can stamp the leaves, stamp them then die cut, use the embossing die cuts, make an embossed background and so much more!

Many of our gorgeous colours can be used with this set – I used Wild Wheat, Pecan Pie, Copper Clay and also Crumb Cake and Basic Beige, plus some accents in gold foil. I have not given the colours for the measurements below because I want you to play with your own combinations!

Here is what you get when you emboss cardstock using the embossing folder with the die:

The cutout leaves can then be coloured in a multitude of ways. In the video, I showed using sponges, daubers or blend splatters, or daubed with Versamark and embossed using embossing powder.

Basic measurements are:

  • Base cardstock 21cm x 14.8cm (8½” x 5½”), scored at 10,5cm (4¼”)
  • Front panel (cardstock or DSP) 10cm x 14.3cm (4” x 5¼”)
  • Inner cardstock panel 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3¾” x 5”)
  • Cardstock for foliage base approx 10cm (4″) square
  • Cardstock, gold foil for leaves etc. as required
  • Scraps for sentiment

I used the Naturally Gilded DSP for the card as the background panel. The foliage base was die-cut from Very Vanilla cardstock using the largest shaped die from the Thoughtful Expressions set. These were stuck on the front of the card base.

I used a mixture of stamped and die-cut, and embossed and die-cut, Changing Leaves images for these cards. I used a mix of colours and played around until I was happy with the arrangement, then I stuck them to the card, some leaves raised on dimensionals.

A coordinating ribbon (I used Very Vanilla) and/or some gems or dots (if you want them) finish the card.

The inside was stamped and of course the envelope was decorated too!
