The lovely crafting ladies who attend my in-person Craft ‘n ‘Chat classes wanted ideas for cards for teenagers this week. As I don’t have teenagers in the family, I haven’t got any current sets that would be suitable, so I had to look out some retired sets.
I decided to make a simple centre flap fun fold card and in the end used four different retired sets! However, this centre flap fun fold card can be adapted to almost any stamp set you may have.
You can see how quick and easy it is to put this card together in the video. You need:
- Colour 1 card base: 10.5cm x 14.8cm
- Colour 2 layer (or DSP): 9.5cm x 13.8cm
- Centre strip colour 1: 29.6cm (length of A4) x 6cm
- Basic White (2 pieces): 5cm x 13.8cm
- Scraps for stamping
Stamp a background onto your colour 2 layer (if you wish). Adhere this to your card base.
Score the long strip of card at 14.8cm, carefully fold in half and burnish well. Stick this to the centre of your card base being careful to line it up exactly top and bottom.
Stamp your inside and outside Basic White pieces as desired then adhere to the centre strip. You can use dimensionals for your images on the outside piece but the inside needs to remain flat so that the card will close.
Don’t forget to decorate your envelope!
