The theme for our first Tech 4 Stampers blog hop of 2024 is Celebrate. I love this topic as there is a lot to celebrate – we celebrate at Christmas and then celebrate New Year. I’m also celebrating having a new monthly tutorial bundle that I will be giving away FREE with every order each month this year. (See my previous blog post for details.)
With the theme celebrate I immediately went to the Light The Sky stamp set. It’s from the September to December mini catalogue but I’m glad to say it is not retiring, so will still be available in future. It was one of the first sets I bought from that catalogue as I can see so many uses for it, to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and for party invitations.
This time of year can be dull and grey so I also wanted to brighten my card up by using embossing powders. I don’t think I will ever tire of watching embossing powder melt and shine! (Though it is difficult to photograph to show the shine in all its glory.)
To make the card you need:
- Basic White cardstock base 14.8cm x 21cm (5 3/4″ x 8 1/4″)
- Basic White layer 14.3cm x 10cm (5 1/2″ x 4″)
- Light The Sky stamp set
- Metallic embossing powders
- Embossing buddy
- Heat tool
- Scrap of Basic White card for the sentiment
- Basic White envelope
Score your card base in half on the long side at 10.5cm(4 1/8″)
Rub your embossing buddy all over your Basic White layer piece.
Stamp the large firework stamp just above the centre of your piece. Add copper embossing powder and set using your heat tool.
Stamp the middle size firework where you want it at the top and bottom of the card and emboss using gold embossing powder.
Stamp the smaller firework and the star burst in the remaining spaces on your card and emboss using silver embossing powder.
Use the smallest circular stamp to fill in any gaps and emboss in copper.
Stamp your sentiment using Versamark onto your scrap of Basic White having rubbed it with your embossing buddy first. Cover in gold embossing powder and heat set.
Trim and flag the end of your sentiment then add across the top of your first copper embossing firework using dimensionals.
Add the completed card from to your card base using dimensionals.
Complete the card by adding a sentiment inside if you wish.
Don’t forget to stamp and emboss your envelope, too!
