T4S blog hop logo

The theme for this month’s Tech 4 Stampers blog hop is Birthday. But of course it’s also being published on Valentine’s Day, so it seemed appropriate to use a love heart theme for my birthday card!

This card is a simple beginners card – I’m actually using it at a “have a go” event at our local library next week. It can be easily adapted to any other occasion, as you can see in the photo.

To make this card, you will need

  • Basic White card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded at 10.5cm
  • Poppy Parade card 10.5cm x 6.5cm
  • Crumb Cake card 11.5cm x 8.5cm
  • Basic White card 10.5 x 7.5cm
  • Approx 50cm Crumb Cake Bakers twine
  • Country Floral Lane stamp set, punch and DSP
  1. Emboss the Poppy Parade card using the Stripes 3D embossing folder and stick this piece to the bottom of the front of your card.
  2. Stamp your greeting (I used the Happy Birthday from the Peaceful Moments stamp set) at the centre top of your piece of Basic White
  3. Adhere this piece to the piece of Crumb Cake
  4. Wrap twine around the bottom of this joint piece twice, tie the ends in a bow and trim ends to length required.
  5. Adhere this whole piece flat to your card front
  6. Punch out the two hearts and leaves from the DSP using the Country Bouquet punch. Stick to the front of your card randomly on the remaining white space using dimensionals on the hearts and sticking the leaves down flat in the pattern you want
  7. Decorate the inside of your card and don’t forget to decorate the envelope too!
