Pretty Boutique Blossoms diagonal card

This simple diagonal card can be adapted for just about any DSP and small/medium image stamp set you may have. I used the Boutique Blooms suite of products. The card uses the beautiful Bloom Boutique DSP to create the diagonal panel.

This is an easy layout to use for any DSP that has a repeating small pattern and my instructions will produce the DSP pieces to make two cards.

To make the card you need:

• Basic White cardstock base 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)
• DSP panel 10.4cm x 14.7cm (4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″)
• Boutique Blossoms bundle – stamps and matching dies
• Scraps of Basic WHite for stampibg
• Small piece of Peaceful Pine cardstock for die-cutting the leaf sprigs
• Hydrangea Hue and Memento ink pads
• 2026-2028 In Color blends
• Scrap of Basic White for sentiment
• Short length of Hydrangea Hue ribbon (optional)
• Golden Glow shimmer brush (optional)

Fold and burnish the card base.

Measure 6cm (2½”) down the long side of the DSP and make a small pencil mark. Turn through 180 degrees and repeat on the second long side. Cut across the DSP from one mark to the other to produce two pieces with a diagonal cut. Keep one for a second diagonal card!

If you wish, add a strip of Hydrangea Hue ribbon along the cut edge, sticking the ends carefully behind the piece.

Stick the piece to your diagonal card front, lining up carefully with the edges.

Stamp two medium flowers, three small flowers, three individual leaves, two leaf clusters and two bud clusters in Memento onto scraps of cardstock.

Colour these elements as you wish either using the infill stamps from the bundle, or using blends. I used the blends today. I also added some Golden Glow shimmer to the centres of the flowers to add a bit of sparkle.

Die-cut your completed pieces. Also die-cut two leaf sprigs from Peaceful Pine cardstock.

Stamp the small detail stamp randomly a few times near the top of your card base using Hydrangea Hue (or ink to match your chosen DSP).

Add your coloured flowers and leaves clustered above the cut line of the DSP as shown. Use dimensionals for some, shape the flowers using your palm (see video if you are unsure).

Stamp your chosen sentiment in Hydrangea Hue on a scrap of Basic White and die-cut.

Add to the card front using dimensionals. Add further decoration if required – I added a ribbon bow.

Stamp a flower and some leaves inside the card and on your envelope in Memento and colour to match the ones on the card front. Add a sentiment inside if you wish.

Complete the diagonal card by adding a few In Color Dots.
