I first saw this pop-out strip card made by an American demonstrator, Sue Campfield. I loved it, so I have worked out the metric measurements.

The card folds together like a gatefold card, but when opened, there is a panel that pops out. I have used the gorgeous Boutique Blossoms bundle and the Bloom Boutique DSP to make my card, together with some of the new Barely Blush cardstock and new ink pads. But you can use any stamp set and DSP that you have to make this card.

Basic instructions are given below and the video shows me making it in detail. Let me see what you come up with!

Measurements

  • Cardstock base 10.5cm x 29.6cm (11” x 4 ¼ ”)
  • Centre pop-out strip piece 4cm x 16.8cm (1 ½ “ x 6 ½ “)
  • Main panels layer 1 cardstock (x6): 7cm x 10cm (2½“ x  4”)
  • Back panels Basic White (x2): 7cm x 10cm (2½“ x  4”)
  • Main panels layer 2 DSP (x6): 6.5cm x 9.5cm (2¼“ x 3¾“) – use different patterns if you wish
  • Pop-out panels card for sides (x2): 3.5cm x 3.5cm (1¼“ x 1¼”)

Score the cardstock base at 7.4cm, 14.8cm, and 22.2cm (2¾ ”, 5½” and 8¼ ”)

Fold and burnish as mountain, valley, then mountain fold.

Score the pop-out strip piece at 1cm, 5cm, 11.8cm and 15.8cm (½“, 2”, 4½“ and 6”). Burnish all folds as mountain.

Stick the two end flaps of this pop-out piece across the centre panels on the card base, each butting to a mountain fold. Lie your card flat as you do this! See the video if you are unsure.

Create the panel layer pieces by sticking the DSP to the cardstock layers. I used two different patterns from the gorgeous Bloom Boutique DSP.

Add the completed panels to all four outer sections and to the centre panels behind the pop-out strip piece, covering the strip piece tabs.

Emboss one of the Basic White panels. Stamp a greeting and decoration on the other if wanted.

Adhere these to the centre panels on the reverse of your pop-out strip card.

Decorate your pop-out strip card as you wish. I used the Bloom Boutique suite of products, but you can use any stamp set and DSP you want to make this card.

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope!

The card folds flat for posting.
