I wanted to make some general greeting cards using two colours I have not really used before – Bubble Bath and Granny Apple Green. So I spent a morning playing with two of our gorgeous bundles, Thoughtful Expressions and Notes of Nature.

I’ve provided instructions for all three cards below. All three cards use the normal Basic White card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored on half and folded at 10.5cm (8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”)

Card 1: You’re in my Thoughts

I used the long die from the Everyday Essentials dies to die-cut the strip pattern on the left hand side of the front of the card. It cut beautifully! Cut a strip of Bubble Bath 2.5cm x 14.8cm (1″ x 5 1/2″) and stick this inside the card behind the die-cut area, being careful where you put glue so none comes through the cut-out holes.

Stamp the Thoughtful Expressions sentiment in Memento on a scrap of Basic White and die cut using the Thoughtful Expressions smallest rectangular frame die. Use the second smallest die to cut out a frame from Bubble Bath cardstock. Layer these frames together using dimensionals and attach to the front of your card.

Use the Thoughtful Expressions leaf dies to cut out leaves in Granny Apple Green and use the tiny flower cluster die twice to cut out six flowers from Bubble Bath. Glue these to the bottom front of your card and add some tiny pearl gems to the centre of each flower to complete the card.

I decorated the inside of the card and the envelope using the Thoughtful Expressions flower cluster stamp and coloured it using Stampin Write markers.

Card 2: Enjoy your Day

Notes of Nature card

I love the background stamps in the Notes of Nature stamp set, so I started this card by stamping the grid background twice in the lower right-hand half of the card front using Gray Granite. I used the Enjoy your Day sentiment from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set and stamped this in Memento in the upper left-hand half of the card.

Stamp the large Thoughtful Expressions flower cluster stamp onto a scrap of Basic White and colour using Bubble Bath and Granny Apple Green Stampin Blends. Cut out using the matching die.

Add your completed flower cluster to the card using dimensionals and stick a few gems around the sentiment to complete this simple card. I decorated the inside of the card and envelope again using the Thoughtful Expressions small flower cluster stamp and coloured them using Stampin Write markers.

Card 3: Sometime there are no words

Thoughtful Expressions card

I was intrigued by the long leaf die in the Notes of Nature bundle so I wanted to try and make a card with it using Granny Apple Green. In retrospect it may have been better in a softer green, or used behind some flowers – what do you think? Or even not used at all…. Anyway, I stuck it down the left-hand front of my card.

The dotty grunge image from the Notes of Nature stamp set was stamped randomly down the card front using stamped-off Granny Apple Green, that is, I inked the stamp then stamped it on a scrap piece of paper before stamping it onto my card.

Die-cut one Thoughtful Expressions tiny flower cluster and two of the open flowers in Bubble Bath, plus three leaves in Granny Apple Green. Stamp the Thoughtful Expressions sentiment onto a scrap of basic White and use the smallest rectangular frame to cut it out.

Add the sentiment to the card using dimensionals. Stick the leaves and tiny flower clusters flat to the card tucking behind the sentiment. Add the two open flower heads using dimensionals. Finish by adding some tiny gems to the small flowers.

I decorated the inside of the card and envelope as for the previous cards.

I’d love to hear what you think about these cards – please comment below!
