I love spring – it’s my favourite season. So I wanted to make a Daffodil Daydream Easter card to celebrate this gorgeous time of year. This is a fun fold card which is easy to make but has a real WOW factor.
I used the now-retired Daffodil Afternoon DSP but you can use any co-ordinating DSP you like for this card.
You will need:
- Daffodil Daydream stamp set
- Daffodil die set
- Radiating Stitches dies (online exclusive)
- Daffodil Delight cardstock: 21cm x 14.8cm scored long side at 10.5cm
- Very Vanilla cardstock: 20cm x 13.8cm scored long side at 5 and 10cm
- DSP of your choice: 10cm x 14.3 cm for the front of the card
- DSP of your choice: 4.5cm x 13.3 cm for the inside flap
- Very Vanilla envelope
- Scraps of cardstock for die cutting: Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and a small scrap of foil for the butterflies
- Stampin Blend combo packs: Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow
First make up the inner Very Vanilla card by folding the scored piece into a Z shape. Stamp the Daffodil into the left hand bottom corner and stick the small DSP piece to the outer flap. Stick this into the Daffodil Delight card base.
Stick the larger piece of DSP to the front of the card and cut out the smallest Radiating Stiched rectangle centrally from the upper part of the front. Using the same die, cut a Very Vanilla rectangle.
Use the Daffodil dies to cut our pieces to make a daffodil and leaves to stick to this Very Vanilla piece. Stick it into the card using glues on the outer half only and using the front cut-out as a guide to stick it to the inner flap – see the video for details. Add a sentiment using the Radiating Stitches die to decorate the ends and add to the card. Decorate with die-cut foil butterflies.
Don’t forget to decorate your envelope!
You can find full instructions in the pdf which is available from my shop and it also has a bonus idea for a second Easter card using the offset from this card…
I hope you have a go at making this card. And I wish you all a beautiful spring and a Happy Easter. Watch out for my post and video on how to make a Lindt mini egg Easter box next week…
